Hello Readers,

Today, in this post we will learn about how to install hotfix in AX 2012. Many times our client ask us to provide resolution for the bug, we can try manually to fix the bug as well as there are multiple hotfix are available within Microsoft. But the question is how to?

In this article, we will tell you step by step method to install hotfix on your AX. Let's start...

1.) Download the desired hotfix from Microsoft LCS and unzip the downloaded file in a folder.


2) Run AxUpdate as administrator from the unzip folder.


3) Read the software license terms. (Skip if you don't have time)


4) Select packages to update.


5) Choose your model store DB from the drop-down menu.


6.) Review updates to be installed. Note all the KB updates numbers in notepad file. You will need it if you face any error after installation.


7.) Ready to install phase.


8.) Monitor the installation progress, generally it will take 30 mins to 45 mins. and also it's depend on hotfix size.


9.) Your installation may be successful or ended with error. If you encounter any error check for log file in the end, you will understand what is the error, in my case I have got the error like below:

"Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_ModelElementData_ElementHandle'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ModelElementData'."

10. After successful resolution of errors, run the hotfix installation again. Now, setup should be successful.


11.) After successful installation of hotfix, run full compilation and generate full CIL.

Hello AX Technical, In this article, we will talk about parallel compilation with benefit of performance gain. Here, we need to understand that when we do parallel compilation it will take less time than compiling on the client. How to do parallel compilation: 1) Open cmd/command prompt and run as administrator. 2) Copy and paste, cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\AX2012R2_MPG_LIVE\bin and press enter. You may get this error at the time of report deployment in ax 2012 or may be when you are running a SSRS report. Hi Readers, Today, in this article we will share a very known issue of AX, most of the people are still struggling to find out the solution for the below error. We got this error when we were posting Ledger Journal using X++. One of the developers find out the solution for the below error so we are posting the solution here. Error : Error in unit of amount in currency KES. Must be rounded to 0.01. The unit of 37.563.5343100000000000 KES being posted to account 32710001-- is outside the current penny rounding threshold. Posting has been canceled. Solution : 1. Check in your code, how you are inserting Amount for Credit and Debit for Ledger Journal posting. 2. Hi Readers, Today, all users from my working location faced below issue when they were running SSRS Report on AX 2012 R2/R3 version. Error : No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.10.249:8201 Solution : Step 1: End all users session from AX by logging out online users from System Administrator. Step 2: Close your AX and restart AX services . Step 3: Restart SQL Server Reporting Services ( SSRS ). Now, you can run the reports successfully.
